I have a collection of go-to fat bomb recipes that are great for breakfast, appetizers, and desserts too.

 

Before we dive into my top 10 list, I’ll explain fat bombs for those of us new to the keto game.

 

What’s a Fat Bomb?

Typically a small cup or ball, keto fat bombs are high-fat low-carb (HFLC) snacks that provide lots of energy and healthy fats.

People love them typically as a snack or pre and post-exercise.

Popular ingredients include coconut butter and oil, peanut butter, chocolate, bacon, and cream cheese, among other things.

The sky is really the limit, as long as you leave carbs out of it!

 

How Do Fat Bombs Fit Into Keto?

Fat bombs are complementary to the keto diet as they help you to meet the daily quota of healthy fats you need.

They also give you a boost of energy, can be sweet or savoury, are quick to make, need minimal ingredients, and are very tasty.

Now let’s get into my 10 favourite keto fat bomb recipes.

I’ve selected a mix of dessert, breakfast, and snackable options for you to sample.

Coconut Oil Fat Bomb

This recipe is an easy way to get a daily dose of healthy fat in a sweet candy treat that’s so tasty even your kids will love them. If I am feeling hungry mid-afternoon, I have one of these snacks and I instantly get more energy.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a pan over low heat, melt the coconut oil and add the honey.
  2. Whisk and add the cocoa powder.
  3. Whisk occasionally while pouring into a silicone ice cube tray or silicone mini muffin tray.
  4. Let cool for 30 minutes in the fridge or freezer.
  5. Makes approximately 12 fat bombs.
  6. Enjoy and remember to share!

 

Sugar Free Maple Almond Fudge Fat Bomb

Prep Time 5 minutes
Passive Time 2 hours

Instructions

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, melt almond butter, butter and coconut oil for 2 minutes using the microwave, stir every 30 seconds.
  2. Whisk maple syrup into the butter mixture until well combined.
  3. Pour bite sized pieces into lined muffin tin.
  4. Refrigerate for 2 hour or until hardened, enjoy!

 

Creamy Coconut and Cinnamon Fat Bombs

  1. Create a double boiler by placing a glass bowl over a saucepan with a few inches of water in it.
  2. Place all the ingredients with the exception of the shredded coconut in the double boiler over medium heat.
  3. While waiting for the ingredients to melt, be sure to mix them together.
  4. Once all of the ingredients are combined remove the bowl from the heat.
  5. Place the bowl of ingredients in the fridge for about 30 minutes, or until it is hard enough to roll into balls.
  6. Roll the mixture into one inch balls then cover them with the shredded coconut.
  7. Refrigerate the balls for approximately 1 hour or more until hardened.

 

Delightful Strawberry Cheesecake Fat Bomb

Using only five ingredients, these are keto strawberry cheesecake fat bombs are simple to make. Once you get a taste of these, you will never look at healthy fat the same!

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cut cream cheese and butter into small pieces and let it sit until softened. Do not microwave.
  2. In a separate bowl, mash up strawberries until smooth.

  4. Once the butter and cream cheese are softened, add strawberry into the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  5. Spoon the mixture into lined muffin tins and place in the freezer until frozen.
  6. Once frozen remove from muffin tin and enjoy! If storing leftovers in the freezer, place fat bombs in an airtight container.

 

No Bake Peppermint Cacao Fat Bomb

Apart from being delicious, this recipe has a dose of healthy fats from coconut oil which will keep you satisfied and deliver many other health benefits too. Coconut oil is a medium-chain triglyceride and offers an amazing source of energy, as well as providing antifungal and antibacterial properties for the body. You will see coconut oil used in a lot of keto recipes because it’s so healthy, versatile, adds great flavor and is said to help with weight management.

  1. In a bowl mix the melted coconut oil with stevia and add in peppermint extract.
  2. Pour half of your mixture into an ice tray or silicone cases. Place your tray in the fridge and let harden. This is the white layer of the fat bomb.
  3. Add cocoa powder to the remaining mixture and stir. Pour over the white layer once it’s set.
  4. Place both layers into the fridge until the mixture has set and it’s ready to be enjoyed.

No bake keto peanut butter fat bombs are the answer to the keto diet snack. Energy, protein, and healthy fats packed into one little ball of goodness.

  1. Fry three slices of bacon until it is very crisp. Set aside.
  2. Remove the jalapeno seeds and chop the pepper into small pieces.
  3. Mix together cream cheese, jalapeno pepper, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Crumble bacon and add to mixture.
  5. Roll into one inch balls, serve, and enjoy!

  • For added heat, double the amount of jalapeno in the recipe.
